At Homemade Baby Food Recipes, we don't just love to hear about your babies... we love seeing them too!We invite you to send in your favourite picture of your baby... and each month we will feature one of your photographs here!Congratulations to little cutie Jacque, 18 months, from Brakpan, Gauteng in South Africa - he's our Baby of the Month for October
His mommy Monique told us...

Jacque likes to give us a hard time when feeding. If mommy or daddy scoops the food he won't eat it and then he tries and the little bit of success ends up on the floor. Hence my reason for not wanting a carpet where we eat. At least though he does absolutely insist in picking the mess up from the floor and handing it to mommy.
Despite the struggles, Jacque absolutely loves carrots, pasta and green beans cooked with potato. He is trying to say the words when I show him the veggies, which is adorable. His ultimate word currently is "seisie" which actually means "vleisie"(Afrikaans) and that is cold meat we give to him as a snack during the day.
I do wish though that I could have discovered your page a year ago, I was so confused as to what food to give Jacque but it is currently in my bookmarks and I have already saved quite a few recipes for my second baby. And many are a real treat to give Jacque still. Thank you, Monique, for sharing this lovely photo. We're so glad Jacque is still enjoying our recipes :)
Thank you, too, to everyone else who entered last month!
Here are some more of our favourite pictures sent in during September 2012...
Alexandra loves apples. She would be happy to just have that as her only meal.
She loves playing with pieces of chicken.
Grandpa's occasional treat of sweet yogurt makes her day.
My dearest and lovely son 'Baivab' is now 12 months old. He always wants to put everything he sees in his mouth. He is a very smiley baby. He always makes everyone around him happy with his clever activities.
He started to take fruits like banana and apple from the age of 8 months. He eats rice. He loves to eat every thing he has tried.

Brendon has been eating solids since he was 5 months. He loves it. He eats anything and everything. We get so excited when we introduce him to new flavors because we love the face impressions he makes. Brendon's favorites are watermelon and sweet potatoes. He also loves bread.
Our bundle of joy just started walking so we can't wait to see what's coming next.

I absolutely love making homemade baby food for Bryson. Not only do I know exactly what he is eating, but he loves it, and it's an awesome way to include his older brother and sister! It's cool to play around with different flavor combinations too. He likes every food I've made so far (although I haven't tried the peas yet).
Cameron trying eggs for the first time
Cameron eats anything and everything. Peaches weren't in season when I wanted to try them with him, so I (gulp) bought a jar of baby food. He hated them. But when they finally came in to season and I bought some at the local farmer's market, he couldn't get enough. We just started eggs, and so far he likes them. He is such a great eater.
Off to the post office Destiny loves mealtimes and lets me know when she feels it is time to eat by going to the refrigerator and saying "mmmmm".
Her favorites are sweet potatoes, yellow squash, pears, and bananas.
Her dislikes are peas and carrots.

Emily will eat anything and everything!
She is a very good eater and shows how much she loves her food with a constant stream of "mmmmmm's".
He's wearing a basketball uniform named after him. He loves to chew big cuts of meat!
More peas, please!!! Henry just started eating solids and is loving it.
So far, he has enjoyed sweet potato, pear, avocado and (as seen in the photo) sweet peas.
His other favorite thing to "eat" is his burp cloth, but we won't count that.
Jack just loves food! Particularly pasta and chocolate but not together (although he probably would as it all goes down the same way).
Yogurt is his dessert favorite.

Josue is sooooo adorable and loves eating his potatoes with carrots. He started eating small portions of food about a month ago and has been doing great. He has 2 little teeth but he eats like an older baby, but loooooves to play with his food. I've tried to give him different baby foods but he sometimes dislikes them (for example baby green peas, bananas & pears). But i guess I just have to keep trying different foods and learn how to combine them... :)

She is loving eating solid food! Her favourite foods would be sweet potato, butternut squash, carrots, apple, pear and plums!
She is a very happy little girl and we love her to bits. xxxx

When's dinner?!
Kyle started eating solid food at 4 months. He loves the sweet potatoes, bananas and carrots. He is going to try the butternut squash as well.
He is a happy baby. Homemade baby food is a great way to make sure that my baby is eating healthy.
Baby Lailah is not yet on solid foods, but can't wait for her next feed of formula :-) She loves the outdoors, and giggles at furry dogs. She is full of smiles and laughs. She is our pride and joy..

Mehek is an adorable baby so far. I don't remember her giving us a hard time when it comes to her eating habits.
We introduced her to solid food when she was 5 months old. Started with very thin cream of rice and later diluted lentil water. She soon transitioned to avocado, which she found delicious in its raw pureed form. Today, I guess she is fond of all sorts of food that she can mash and swallow on her own, though I see she loves spaghetti and finger food that she can mash with her hands.
Our princess shall soon be turning one, so eager to see her smashing her 1 yr Birthday cake :-)

Navi loves her fruits and veggies!
Her favorite first food was bananas but she enjoys sweet homegrown apples!
Baby Noelle is turning 6 months old next month. Mummy is now searching for the best food for her first weaning.
Hope Noelle will be enjoying her first solid food!

Olivia seems to enjoy most foods with bolognese sauce being a particular favourite.
I am enjoying watching her reactions and funny faces with each new flavour.
Paige was so ready for real food and is so interested in everything! She had acid reflux really bad in the beginning so we waited a little longer than usual before introducing solids but she has been doing so well! Avocado and sweet potato are her current favorites but she seems to love everything we have given her so far (carrots, butternut squash, mashed potato)...with the exception of pears, which was surprising as I thought she was going to love them!
I use this website constantly and it has been such a great help! I don't know what I would do without it!

He hates peas and beef, but loves his sweet potatoes.
Roman in his OWL hat! I just started making Roman's food a few weeks ago! So far he is in LOVE with Yams! He has also experienced acorn squash and enjoys butternut Squash! He can't wait to keep growing so that he can try some more! He is really loving the homemade food!!
I love to cook and wanted to cook for my baby. I came across your site when looking for healthier and more cost effective ways to start Sean on solids. and boy did it work!!! He loves his homemade meals so much that when we took jarred food with us camping this summer he wouldn't eat it. Homemade is the only way for Sean. A boy with a distinguishable palate ;)
Sean LOVES to eat. Pork roast dinner is his favorite and as long as it is homemade we really cant find anything he doesn't like.
Thanks for all the great ideas and helpful tips!
Himalyan doll My baby Shanaaya is 1 year old now. She's not a fussy eater and eats everything I prepare at home. She's naughty and a happy go lucky baby - very active and playful. She loves the banana blueberry oatmeal homemade recipe...we all are waiting to see her walk all around the house!

Our little angel enjoys eating, especially fruits. She was over the moon for bananas but some how it has moved to oranges now. One morning we had to leave our house early (family day out) and she was still asleep. I wasn't sure how she'd react being woken so early but my husband just put a slice of orange on her lips and she was wide awake munching on her orange slice. We laughed; never did that before and it worked!
She also enjoys avocado, grapes, tomatoes & carrots. Hope she never grows out of it! My trouble though is giving her greens *sigh* not passing those lips.
